Forecast: Showers, storms and high humidity return
SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - - Mostly dry through sunset. - Rain arrives first to the Finger Lakes, then Syracuse tonight . - Warm, unsettled and muggy on Friday. - Weekend still looks pretty good right now. Rain returns tonight : High pressure that brought us dry weather Wednesday and Thursday has moved east. An area of low pressure and its fronts will swing in from the south and west tonight. This will bring some showers and a few storms by 9 p.m. for the Finger Lakes and at or shortly before midnight for Syracuse. Showers and storms continue into Friday morning before a warm front moves east and we dry out temporarily. Scattered showers and storms will likely develop Friday afternoon as well given the fact that it will be very humid plus a cold front will be approaching us from western NY. Some of these storms could be strong to severe late Friday afternoon , especially the more sunshine we see during the day. It does look like the shower and thunderstorm threat will be diminishing ...
