First time with Princess; something was lacking. - Princess Review

We wanted to try Princess having heard so many wonderful thing about their ships and in particular their onboard dinging and overall service. So a 2 night 'quickie' onboard Golden Princess - our first trip without the kids was a perfect opportunity to give them a try! Now I will put a couple of caveats on my review, being: a) we know a 2 night cruise is not long enough to get a full feel for the ship AND b) there were a lot of cruisers like ourselves doing the 2 nighter and thus a different 'vibe' to a longer cruise was experienced - again not necessarily the same experienced on a 'full' cruise where you have a chance to settle in and truly relax! So I think the above may in fact explain that whilst overall we really enjoyed our 2. 5 days aboard Golden Princess we felt that something was lacking that left us without the 'WOW" factor that we were truly expecting (hoping!) to experience. The ship herself is lovely - built in More a true nauti...

Bellagio’s Junior Suite Fails to Impress

Gambar
Iun Hockley shares his thoughts on the Bellagio’s Junior Suite Ah, The Bellagio, featured in so many movies; the iconic fountains; the palatial exterior; the famous gardens; the luxurious restaurants and the broad, sprawling casino where no-one seems to be winning very much at all. Every Vegas trip, I like to have a “treat” for myself – an overpriced meal in luxurious surroundings; a spa treatment with all the extra trimmings; front-row seats in the theatre; $20 bets on blackjack… As Mrs. Iun was joining me for this particular trip, our treat was a King Room in the Bellagio. Or so we thought. We had visited the Bellagio before and were charmed by the mushroom-like glass ceiling in the lobby, we loved the gardens (especially with the aquarium tunnel) and of course, we spent plenty of time filming the fountains. This time was different: as guests, we felt a certain thrill in that we were to be accommodated here among the Glitterati in such a famous setting. Our expectations were soon dr...

FAMILY FUN - Royal Caribbean Review

We drove from OKC to Houston the day before so that we wouldn't be rushed on the sail day. Stayed at the Fairfield Inn near the Houston airport. The price was reasonable and it was convenient and close to restaurants and easy access to the highway the next morning for the drive to Galveston. Only took about 35 minutes. The traffic getting to the cruise terminal on Sunday AM was SLOW going to get into the terminal area. I would recommend driving past the terminal and coming in from the east direction, rather than from the West and having to wait forever to turn into the terminal drives. Once we did get on the property, there were porters very available to assist in getting the luggage from the car and onto a cart for us. He showed us where the check in was and took care of getting all our luggage inside and checked in for us, which was a great help. He was friendly and affable and well worth the tip he earned. The staff inside the terminal were courteous and More smiling as...

Rocabella a Serene Retreat Amid the Mykonos Glamour

Gambar
Mykonos may be known for its party atmosphere and go-all- night bar scene , but amid the glitz and glamour there’s a luxurious and serene hotel where beauty and relaxation reign. Rocabella Mykonos is situated on a beach just a few minutes drive from the pulsing rhythm of Chora — a setting that is private and laid-back but within easy reach of the humming town. The feel of the property is relaxed and a bit bohemian, mixing natural stone with the  iconic white Cycladic architecture style . The pool area of the hotel has plenty of room for swimming, relaxing and dining in the great Greek outdoors . The hotel offers everything you need to relax. View in gallery Views from all parts of the hotel are stunning. The public areas of the hotel set the tone for the rest of the property, which is relaxed and natural. The glamour in this hotel is its lack of glitz and the focus on earthy luxury. Natural wood furnishings and comfortable seating dominate the hip and stylish lobby and shop area, pu...
