I don’t think so. Just take a look at these people who never had a bath and they are in absolute perfect condition.

1. Choo Kim Guan - 10 years

An unemployed, elderly man living alone had not bathed for more than 10 years, causing his whole body to be ridden with bugs.

The condition of Choo Kim Guan, 77, came to light after private volunteer Fion Phua spotted him recently when she took durians to his neighbourhood to share with the residents.

"I could even see bugs creeping out from his crotch," the founder of a private volunteer group, Keeping Hope Alive, told Wanbao.

According to a 40-year-old female neighbour surnamed Lin, Mr Choo has lived there for more than 20 years and likes to sit on the stone chairs in the void deck.

2. Dave Whitlock - 12 years

Dave Whitlock, a chemical engineer, has decided to eschew bathing for 12 years in favour of dousing himself with a live bacteria spray, invented by a company he co-founded.

The bacteria mist, which was developed by company AOBiome, has to be applied twice a day.

"I have not taken a shower in over 12 years," Mr Whitlock said.

The spray is called Mother Dirt and is aimed at people who want to eradicate soap from their lives.

Whitlock doesn't plan to start showering; he uses Mother Dirt every day and hopes the rest of the world will join him.

"I would like a billion people a day to use this," Whitlock said.

3. Tamara Darbinyan - 30 years

Tamar's house resembles a garbage dump.

A resident from one of the neighboring houses advises me not to go to Tamar's house alone. "She keeps dogs, they might attack," she warns.

On the latticed metal bed in the center of the room, I glimpse a bag full of rags, which most likely serves as her pillow.

Upon asked when she last took a shower? She replied that was 30 years ago in 1986.

4. Kailash Singh - 38 years

Kailash Singh works all day tending cattle in heat that sometimes reaches 47 C, but at the end of the day he doesn't shower to cool down or get the sweat off. In fact, he hasn't showered in 38 years and is considered by many to be the world's smelliest man.

The 66-year-old farmer, who lives near the holy city of Varanasi in the northwest part of India, stopped showering and cutting his hair in 1974 shortly after he got married on advice from a priest.

The holy man guaranteed him a son if he stopped showering.

Now 38 years later, Singh has six-foot long dreadlocks from his head, a beard, seven daughters but no son. Even though it's unlikely he and his 60-year-old wife will be able to have their first son now, he's still holding out hope and won't shower.

5. Amou Haji - 60 years

Amou Haji, an 80-year-old Iranian, is being called the world's dirtiest man as he hasn't bathed in 60 years.

Haji reportedly lives in isolation in Dejgah village, in the Southern Iranian province of Fars, subsists on rotten porcupine meat, and says the thought of a bath after all this time makes him very angry.

He said he adopted his extreme, isolated lifestyle after suffering emotional setbacks in his youth.

In addition to animal feces, Haji apparently likes regular smokes as well - five at a time.
